Here at Jyakuen Global we are of the mindset that everyday should be Women's Day, because every single day women around the globe are doing the incredible, and the unimaginable.

With recent laws being passed specifically to deny women certain rights and opportunities in life, on some days it can be difficult to see the silver lining. However, there are women across the globe breaking glass ceilings and thereby opening doors for us all to walk into.

One only has to take a look at history to see the powerful impact that women have had over the years. From Sojourner Truth, who stood for gender and racial equality; to Frida Kahlo and Audre Lorde, who used their art and poetry to explore subjects about multi-dimensional women; to Diane Von Furstenberg who built an entire fashion career on the concept of women's empowerment. Over the years women have fought for the rights they have been denied with valour. Without these women, many of us would not be where we are today. Intersectional feminism has reminded us of how far we have come, but also how far we still need to go.

With that being said, today we choose to celebrate 4 special women who inspire us.

1. Miki Agrawal - Founder of THINX, Tushy, Wild, and Icon

Miki has been through it all, yet still came out of the other side stronger than before. She is a serial entrepreneur, author and speaker, who bounced back after her controversial departure from Thinx, a company she founded in 2014. She is the embodiment of a fighter, and we love her for it.

3. Amanda de Cadenet- Photographer, Actress and Television Presenter

Amanda is a force to be reckoned with. She began her career at the tender age of 15. Her work speaks for itself, and is a clear indication of how she has managed to stay on top of her industry for so long. We admire her creativity and how she challenges the perceptions of women.

4. Amanda Demme - Artist, Designer, Director, Photographer, Consultant, and Hustler

Amanda is another female who wears many hats and does so with effortless style and grace. She has a lengthy and wonderfully detailed resume (just Google her)!

These women are disruptive in every sense of the word. Not only are they truly talented, but they also care about the future of humanity, and for that we celebrate them.
